Dabu Hand Block Print is a mud-resist hand-block printing technique practiced in Rajasthan, India. It is a tedious process involving a number of steps and the use of natural dyes. This unique form of printing is also environmentally non-toxic as it uses no harmful or synthetic dyes. Dabu, or mud, is used to block colours on the fabric before dyeing, leading to the distinct patterns on the fabrics. A variety of designs is used to decorate the fabric, including geometric prints, flowers or small animals.
